Camptown Outdoor Adventures
Youth with Disabilities

Our youth with disabilities programs are designed to help youth look beyond their disability and see that they can do anything they put their mind to; to try things that they do not think they can accomplish and succeed. Activities are planned with each group's abilities in mind so that everyone will succeed.

Outdoor Day Camp
We will come to your location and conduct outdoor day activities. These can include: Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics, team building, map & compass, fishing and other nature related crafts.

Trail Blazers
In this program students will blaze new trails by trying new things. We begin with team building activities held at your location or at a local park. We then will begin a series of pre-trip training classes ranging in length from 1/2 hour to one hour. All classes are targeted to have activities that range no longer than 10-20 minutes each and are interactive. Class topics can include wilderness survival, environmental stewardship, teambuilding, leadership, and life skills.

After completing the class time, your group will spend time in nature. We will start with a one-day hike at a local state park. We will explore the trial, learn to read a map and use a compass and experience nature. We will then take an overnight camping trip. This two-day/one-night trip will include hiking at a local state park where we will explore a cave, go on a scavenger hunt and learn new things at the nature center. Students will also learn nutrition, menu planning, and prepare their own meals. We will campout overnight in tents and cook over an open fire. When darkness falls, we will take a night hike and learn how the animals of the night are equipped to survive. We will then close this program on a 1/2-day low ropes challenge course.
